You might be from Charlotte if you have three cars in your driveway, two of which are up on cinder blocks, and another car in the back yard covered by a tarp.
That sounds more like YOUR neighborhood my little man......scram

You remember cows grazing across from South Park. (or behind Kirk Brown's Gulf Station where South Park now sits.)
You went South Mecklenburg High School when it was out in the country and you went swimming at the Rock Quarry in SC. (Diving off the high rocks)
Your first job was being an usher at the Coliseum.
Your Mom took you to Ovens Auditorium for musical plays.
You went to the Yellow Rose on Tyvola, La Fiesta on South Blvd.
Everywhere you went out of state, you looked for Lance crackers.
When you got close to home, the music was Carolina beach, oldies, classics like no other...and still is!
just a couple of personal tidbit additions.

You know you are from Charlotte, and specifically old money Charlotte, if you are named Bootsie, Bitsie, Titsie, Tootsie, or Bunny. Your grandmother and great grandmother had these names. You may have a lot of floral and plaid in your home. You may be in the Jr. League. You may attend a church with the name Myers Park in it. People in your family are bankers, commercial real estate brokers, financiers, lacrosse players, football players, UNC graduates, women's college graduates. You always wave the flag of appropriate, and if you are not waving that flag, then it is only when it is appropriate not to do so. Female members of your clan may have been debutantes. You may have purchased clothing from that boutique that was located adjacent to Southpark Mall in that villa like shopping enclave with the ponds and lagoons in front of it. I can't recall the name of it now. Male members of your clan may wear leather loafers and belts with alligators or flamingoes stitched upon them and hang out at Providence Road Sundries.

Only a true regular would know the local name for Providence Road Sundries from the early 70's until that owner sold it. HINT: it was identified by his last name. He converted it to a bar and grill.
Does anyone know the name?

Nice try, Dr. Smith owned it when it was Providence Sundries and drug store, this guy owned it after that and turned it into a bar and grill. The place was nicknamed after this guy. A buddy spent many an evenings there talking to the owner. The owner still lives on Providence road just a couple of blocks past Sharon road heading out to the Arboretum.

Yep, John Deramus.

Most of the regulars I knew referred to it as Deramus' place.
