I think a lot of people don't think about that about NW Indiana. Someone living in Naperville or St Charles or somethign like that probably has a worse commute working in the city than someone in NW Indiana does.

Stop the moving vans! Illinois has a budget! Our legislature just performed a going-a-rauner.

I've heard its about 1 hour -1:15 each way. Kind of rough. Of course we are likely to work our current jobs / locations only a couple - few years, where a house is more permanent, and NWI is more convenient to the loop, especially if that south shore line extension goes through.

We are considering a move to nwi. Munster or St.John. It will be a huge adjustment for myself especially since I grew up in Chicago. But as a bill paying adult I just can't deal with it anymore. My husband can take the South Shore line into the city. I'm sick of Illinois tax payer abuse.

I am seriously considering it now. I just don't think I can find an equivalent job elsewhere. It is tough to get a good job in my profession. But I am seriously getting homicidal thoughts thinking about the Dems here.

People have been leaving Illinois more than any other state in the country for 3 years now and that will increase for sure now that taxes went up again! And they said they will raise it even more in the near future! It is as if they want everyone to get out of Illinois.

Not just that taxes went up, but that they did nothing to address the structural problems that got us into this fiscal mess to begin with. So now we have higher taxes AND looming insolvency.
