If you start going east at the equator and you walk around the world - the compass is always going to say you are going East. That is what they mean. You will always be heading east - even when you are in the west. The direction that you are walking will always be east.
...but similar does not apply when you are travelling north and reach the north pole?? I need a lie down!!

How is it that you apparently "get" all the stuff darwinism has sold you but this simple aspect of a compass and a globe elude you? Place your finger on the equator and find me a spot where you could not start a journey traveling east. No such spot exists.

Yes - but that still doesn't seem to be what is being described in the passage you posted.

But remember, you don't have to be on the equator to do that. There are only two spots on the entire world where you can stand and only have the option of moving in one single direction...

Clearly this east/west discussion is not the focal point of the passage. The focal point is God removing our sin. Like I said early I just see, when reading this text, that only on a sphere is there a strong distinction between n/s vs e/w.

That I know, but I was trying to keep Rafius as little confused as possible. I already feel as though his head might have actually exploded.

Same reason as the logic and common sense of atheism eludes you. We all have certain thing that we can't get our heads around. With some people it's the infinity of space, with me it's never travelling towards the west if you start in an easterly direction. That's just the way it is pal.

But I don't see the passage as using e/w in opposition to n/s. Mention of the one is not a reflection on how it is different from the other. I think you are adding meaning to the passage. It's fine if you want to do that. I'm not a Bible believer so I certainly don't mind.
