but Nice insight . yes I don't think it is our Choice really , but the Father or the Spirit's choice . we may choose to want it and to learn about it more and just to learn more about God in general.. but it is their choice when to give it and how fast or slow..

Amen. Jesus was approved among us by signs and wonders, and we are approved after much study in exactly the same way, which is why "these things follow them that believe." Peace

The baptisms of water and fire represent cleaning and purification.

By the baptism of water one experiences in conversion to the faith in this life and a cleansing away of the old nature and as a consecration. The baptism of water could also be understood as a typification of the judgment of God on the earth by means of water during the deluge of Noah, wherein God cleansed the world of wickedness.

The baptism of fire represents the judgment of fire which will come upon the world to judge the works of men in the fullness of times. It will likewise purify and sanctify the world once again, to the restoration of all things in Christ.

The baptism of the spirit itself is process of renewal that is the inner transformation accomplished in the other two "types" of Baptism.

What is important to note is that the fire and water baptisms are symbolic and represent the purifying and cleansing power of Gods Judgment.

It is not a literal observance of these rituals that is important so much as understanding the spiritual realities which they typify.

The significance is that of cleansing and purifying and sanctifying and consecrating all things to God in Christ.

Peace ...
Actually there are 2 other baptisms mention in "Scripture. Jesus called His crucifixion a baptism(Mk 10:38). Here I think, and it just a guess, this baptism point to submission of authority, which in part water baptism also points to.

Paul call crossing the Red Sea being baptized into Moses. Guess who got the water applied in that one. IMO that also points to submission to authority. God had put Moses in charge and He waned them to submit to the auyhority He gave Moses.

OVernight is magical thinking. Our entire life is the process of maturing our embryo Spirit sufficiently to be "born again" as Spirit upon our death. We are "conceived from above" (born of God) when we love. That is the beginning of our "spiritual pregnancy." We nurture that "pregnancy" by the love of God and each other every day and by repenting when we don't. We interfere with and stunt the growth to maturity of our embryo Spirit when we act selfishly without love or concern for our impact on others.

Again, if you wait to be born from above until after you die, you've MISSED IT. Peace

When you can flit around like the wind while in your physical body, I will believe you have been born again as Spirit. Otherwise, I will continue to believe you are wasting the time you should be spending on the development and maturation of your embryo Spirit thinking you have already been born again instead of just "conceived from above."

You mean like Philip who was caught up and put down somewhere else? The body is not a hindrance to the Spirit if He decides to take you somewhere. I have been caught up and taken somewhere more than once by His Spirit. The counterfeit for this is "astral traveling". He is as real as you will let Him be, once you get delivered of all fear. Peace
