I told you already . . . Christianity is not a religion. But you take religion and I will take truth.
Christianity is a religion, make no mistake about it.
If you and one other guys decide to follow the Bible and nothing else then you have religion.

Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Mike 555, unimpressed by your retorts to my post.. not swain by Protestant
think-tank degrees such as the evangelical Dallas Theological Seminary or Baptist Colleges.
They are going to defend their viewpoints, although their retorts remain laughable
in the Catholic estimation and refuted by the earliest Church fathers.
I found what one of them said in your post attempting to refute what Christ said
at the cross (maintaining His so-called "brothers" were not present because they
did not believe in Him) particularly frivolous. Even if "they" (whom I am confident never
existed as blood brothers) were not there, Jesus wouldn't have entrusted Mary to John
domestically.
I suppose there's no sense discussing this further, your mind is made up that
the KJV English version is to be read literally with modern-English connotations
I wonder if that leads you to believe all brethren mentioned in the Bible are also
siblings by blood.

Laugh then. Laugh long . . . laugh hard.
And I don't use the King James Bible.
'There was no full consensus on the doctrine of perpetual virginity within the early Church by the end of the second century, e.g. Tertullian (c.160 – c.225) did not teach the doctrine (although he taught virgin birth), but Irenaeus (c.130 – c.202) taught perpetual virginity, along with other Marian themes.[31] However, wider support for the doctrine began to appear within the next century.[31]' [Bolded mine]

OK, lets assume you do not formally belong to a church.
Lets assume you are alone at home and that on your own you have become a Christian by following the Bible.
Guess what? You have company! Lots of people with the same belief system and same prose. It is religion and there is nothing you can do about it.
Religion is man's estimation of what God is like and is MAN made. The Bible is MAN made. You cannot escape this!
Your views are in line with Late Protestants.
The Bible is God's objective revelation to man. It is not man's subjective opinion about God. I do not expect you to understand that. Your recent posts suggest to me that you don't actually believe what even the Catholic church teaches, but that you just sort of go along with it because you were brought up Catholic and so since according to you, we can't really know God, then what the heck. As I told you before, it is pointless for me to bother discussing this with you. We are done here.

It is OK, I see nothing wrong with what you believe.
What is really wrong is to think you are correct and others are not. Remember the Catholic Church of the Dark Ages? The Inquisition? We have been there done that? As a Catholic I know how you feel. You are like a Catholic of several hundred years ago. History repeats itself and there is usually a new group of people that think they know better.
I cannot overstate this anymore. Your religion or my religion is no better than other religions.
And you are correct! I defend catholicism because it is my religion. But, I don't go as far as you go. I accept what you say and see the logic.
Matthew 1:25
Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
25 but knew her not until she had borne a son;[a] and he called his name Jesus.
Footnotes:
1.25 This means only that Joseph had nothing to do with the conception of Jesus. It implies nothing as to what happened afterward.
The Catholic bible analysis says that does not mean he had intercourse after Jesus was born.
The scripture say's one thing and the catholic footnote say's something else. Guess which one is wrong. I'll give you a hint. The footnote. But I realize you are told to believe what they say over what God say's. You follow your man very well.

You are looking at an English bible made for Protestants. You need to look at the real source. The Vatican vaults has many old bibles which are not available to Protestants.
