A deep history and diaspora tell a compelling story on the other hand.

Who cares though? And why? What's anyone's stake in this?

It's a toss up between Socal and SF, but I voted Socal

Hispanics make up a larger percentage (barely, 24.1 vs. 22.9%, though Asians alone and combined is 25.0%) of the population as Asians in the Bay Area, not to mention that a huge chunk of the cities there have Spanish names. If "Bay Area" meant "San Francisco", then maybe (but that's still pushing it), but the rest of the Bay Area? I don't really think so.

I feel like Bay Area Hispanics, despite being nearly 2 million strong, are relatively overlooked despite the fact that they are definitely a part of the local culture there.
