LA is no longer the gang infested city it once was, thanks to tougher laws, It's actually the safest big city in the nation now, Chicago can have their high murder rate to brag about if they want.
I think NYC has that title (unless 2012 stats say otherwise).
Chicago's gang culture will die out when they stop selling Al Capone T-Shirts and doing gangster themed tours in the city, and every politician that made their way into the Chicago machine through organized crime leaves. Otherwords, never.

I know the Los Angeles gangs of Crips and Bloods are more known and spread nationally, but here in the south, Chicago-origin Gangster Disciples are the majority in some cities and even states as a whole. Some places like Memphis and Mississippi have other Chicago gangs like Vice Lords, BPS, 4CH. Chicago just seems to have more organized gangs and the streets more driven by gang politics than anywhere else, including L.A. There are even white gangs in Chicago like the Gaylords.
Like I just said its the most gang controlled city in the nation......of course LA is not bad as it was in the 90"s......after the riots a dramatic population shift happen in the black community where a lot of people left to the valley and back south......all you gotta do is look up the FBI gang assessment 2012/2013 and you'll see Los Angeles number 1 as city with most gangs and gang members in America ...Chicago is number 2 & San Bernardino is surprisingly number 3.......no need to be bias bro.......no city is even close to the influence and popularity of L.A gangs.....go to New York and Atlanta and see bloods everywhere .
And Korea town is not a dangerous place to see gangs.....all the action is in south central,where this year summer was very brutal,go to Compton and watts and you'll realize the gang presence ........no city is bad like it was in the 90"s,Chicago just still has a large black population where in LA the Hispanics are now majority......plus the laws in California are super tough compared to Illinois ..........the only Chicago gang in other states making noise is the gds .......but bloods,crips,hoovers,pirus and surenos are everywhere ,some are even in Illinois and I can post the Chicago police article about west coast gangs setting up shop serving a certain area.....
I haven't just been in Korea Town. I've been to parts of Venice that used to have a gang presence. Echo Park. East Hollywood. Mid City around Pico.
South Central LA crime wasn't brutal at all this year. The entire city is hovering around 220 murders for the year. That's not even a murder a day. It's now the safest big city in America. I'm sorry, but that's what the FBI is saying. I'll take their word over yours.
@Kobe25 I'm not trying to attack you but I am wondering where you're getting your information about Chi gangs? I don't know much about LA gangs to assess them, but I know quite a bit about Chi's. Most of what you state is way different than my experience. So i'm wondering how you come by this information?
@King_X There have always been white gangs in Chi. The former mayor, the honorable Richard Daley was a member of the Hamburg Athletic Club in his teenage years.
I work in the music industry bro so I travel a lot and LA gangs are far more popular and spread than Chicago gangs ......in some places people don't know what a gd or vice lord Is but everyone heard of crips and bloods.....
And yes I agree Chicago gangs are big down south but the south has everyone down there due to family connect, like Cali gangs are the majority in Texas,Louisiana ,Oklahoma ,Arkansas and Chicago gangs got missippii and Alabama with Memphis being 50/50 .....some stated chi and LA gangs even team up to commit crimes....but overall LA gangs are bigger because the whole damn east coast and a lot of the south it's bloods everywhere,even vicelords in the south dress like bloods......
Far as the FBI saying LA is the safest that's to protect LA image as America's golden child....
