Both cities have a gang problem. As safe as LA has gotten, you'd have to be pretty naive to believe LA doesn't have the 1st or 2nd highest gang related violent crime rate in the nation.

Yep, that's it. I've been watching too much Boyz N The Hood. You're right. How silly of me. LA has no gang problems.
LOL! I think the gang problem here in LA is not as widespread as it used to be. There is still most definitely a gang problem, especially in Southeast LA areas like Watts and Compton.
You people have know clue what your talking about. Chicago gangs where very political. What blood or crip was ever invited to the White House? None. Jeff fort the leader of the BPSN was. He was invited by Nixon. Even Larry Hoover and the gds helped put the first and only black mayor of chicago in office. Bloods and crips never accomplished anything like that. These nation leaders also controlled and dictated aldermans I'm their ward. Hell the government gave Jeff fort 1. 5 mil In the 60's to start up a work program. So how is that not political it's the la gangs that never left the corner
Smartest thing mayor villaregosa did for la was build a half dozen world class skateparks. Some of which are located in the hood.
There are literally thousands of poor kids at these parks everyday vs doing god knows what on the street.
It is 2014 and more kids skateboard than kids who play little league baseball.
Chicago has to give their kids more things to do.
