Nei, is your post #101 mislabeled "Waterfalls"? LoL, I ask because you wrote waterfalls and only 3 out of the 6 actually contain waterfalls!
It looks to me like photos #3 (the canyon) and #5 (tall waterfall) are in New York. And #4 looks New Yorkish too. Not sure about the others. #1 looks like New England somewhere.
Yea, I meant they had a bunch of watefalls. They're all in or near Ithaca, NY.
It makes since to me that the Northeast should be winning, but the fact that it's such a landslide reveals that most people are voting out of ignorance and prejudice which is typical of any topic dealing with Texas. The Northeast has a very appealing domestic beauty, but I love the wild open spaces of Texas as well.
The Texas posters have done a good job posting pictures of some of the beauty around the state, but they're largely focusing on the east side of the state, which is great in itself, but the western side is what helps even the fight in my opinion. Here are some highlights. (Pictures followed by source.)
The arid looking pictures don't do much for me, but the others look quite nice.
Desert landscape does not have broad appeal, but when you do come to appreciate it it truly can be breathtaking. Personally, I've seen so much of it that I love seeing the pictures of the lush northeast
Westerner, thanks for posting all those gorgeous photos.

No doubt about it. According to one particular poster, however, the fact that we object to such attitudes or that we could even be proud in what our state has just makes us pig-headed and arrogant Texans.

I lived in Texas for 35 years, and during that time I had a chance to travel throughout the state many times to say the least. Texas is no slouch when it comes to scenery. That said, I have lived in CT for three years and am blown away by the natural beauty. The Hudson Valley (NY), Litchfield County, the coast, the mountains, drives up to NH...it’s just too much.
These pictures just blow the Northeast out of the water. Quite frankly rolling hills of endless forest become boring after a while. I prefer the variety that Texas offers and the jagged rock landscape of parts of the state. On top of that they have actual mountain peaks. It offers that "wild west" feel.
