The rocky coast of Maine, the beaches of Cape Cod, Nantucket, Long Island, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland (so what if you can't swim in the summer, they are beautiful in all seasons), The Finger Lakes and Great Lakes of NY, Niagara Falls, Letchworth park in NY, the Thousand islands of NY, the Hudson River Valley, the Green, White, Berkshire, Adirondack, Catskill, and Allegheny Mountains, the Chesapeake Bay, etc.
Nature here has been rich and bountiful in beauty.

Texas: the Gulf Coast, the Hill country, Big Bend area. A shorter list. There are more, but they just don't compare in outstanding scenery.
+the cypress swamps of Caddo Lake, the Palo Duro Canyon, the subtropical palm forests of the Rio Grande Valley, the Piney Woods. That Gulf Coast? Contains a myriad of unique ecosystems, including hypersaline lagoons with extensive sea-grass beds, and also access to the northernmost coral reef in North America's shelf. And higher biodiversity (species richness) than the entire Northeast to top it all off.

The only knowledge most people in the country have about Texas is simply the nature of the state's politics and elected officials. They can't be expected to know much about what the state has to offer.

Port Isabel is really pretty. I'd like to visit it again some day.

Northeast, not a contest.

The fall foliage alone in the Northeast (the entire region) alone is enough.

It's quite a contest, in fact. As already demonstrated earlier in this very thread, Texas has a region with very impressive Autumn colors.

I've driven across Texas a few times and there are miles And miles of almost the same....

Texas has some nice areas...Big Bend, Hill Country, Guadalupe Mtns near NM,
Palo Duro Canyon, South Padre Island, etc...

But Northeast wins. Much more scenic over all.

It's funny how this is attributed as a problem with the Texas landscape, even when it applies equally to many areas it is being compared to.

Choose your battles wisely.

This contest is a wipeout and thats from someone who has been in nearly every county in Texas and the Northeast.

Yes, and Texas is the one with the lead (don't care what the poll says).

I love the appearance of the northeast (personally including Maryland, Delaware and northern WV). I'm very attached to it.

That said, a lot of you are really underselling Texas.
