Oh wow! Then we'll have 3 skyscrapers all within 5ft of each other! At that point I figure we should just call it a 3-way tie for second place.

likely to return;

1. Harbor Garage/Don Chiofaro/Prudential 50 stories BRA rendered guidelines for 600'/900,000, ending the 2 tower idea. Chiofaro/Pru team say they need 1.1~1.2M sq ft w/ single 600' tower to proceed. Harbor/city/state process is implacable.

The design limits from the BRA for height, density, volume, massing, shade and obligations to the abutters are horrendous at this site. Nevertheless, the Harbor Garage impasse will be resolved with a single tower design.

i believe the solution to solving the decade long impasse between Don Chiofaro and the City is within reach. i'll have the harbor view, vertical render up in a couple of hours and 3d models done within a couple of weeks, ready for the Downtown Waterfront Planning Initiative meeting in September.

Latest renderings of 2520 Peachtree (The Emerson) condo project in Atlanta. Developed by JPX Works, designed by ODA, groundbreaking to commence this fall.

ODA also designed another residential project (Peachtree and 3rd) in Midtown that will also be constructed in the not so distant future.

Keep in mind that the new Braves stadium is just outside the city limits of Atlanta and still part of the city - just not in the downtown area like it was for 40 years. I hated it when I first heard of the move, but the stadium was never good for that neighborhood and hopefully it will allow the neighborhood to be reborn around Georgia State. I doubt the panhandlers and petty criminals will want to hang around after the stadium is gone.

It is for sure. Not trying to throw shade because LA is kinda on fire as well, but many of Atlanta's projects are actually proposals meaning they haven't yet broken ground or even been approved by the city. I honestly don't know how it works there or really anywhere outside LA, but here it's pretty easy to "propose" a project and many, maybe most, proposals are never actually built.

But regarding Atlanta's projects/proposals I'm really excited about the Turner Field one. It seems like a good extension from the centennial park/aquarium. I recall that being a little far from the nearest MARTA station but close to a burgeoning neighborhood with new housing.

Yeah Atlanta's doing well now, but all of the super huge projects are still in the proposal stages including a new 2nd tallest building, the Underground re-development, Turner Field re-development, etc.

Over 10,000 apartment units expected to be delivered in Atlanta in 2016, meaning those are already under-construction and are expected to finish this year or have already finished construction this year:

Essentially it is the exact same cities that also top the list for most new hotel rooms under construction and in the pipeline as well.

These are the cities expected to see the highest rent increase in 2016 as well:
