Big new development for South Park, along with the Metropolis project and Fig Central project.

New Look at Massive South Park Megaproject Fig Central and Its Roberto Cavalli Hotel - Rendering Reveal - Curbed LA

Revived Metropolis Megaproject is on a Tear in South Park - Revenge of the Megaprojects - Curbed LA

What is crazy is that a couple of these are languishing projects that have been "on" and "off" at various times in the last few decades. I think it is safe to say DTLA is booming.

Hollywood is not far behind.

Yeah your site is so much better than Curbed. I love that half the time they pull content off of Urbanize for their site. Pretty cool that you guys are so ahead of the curve.

Good work!

Some new proposals are out for the Winthrop Square site in Boston.

Banker & Tradesman

For those unfamiliar with this site, this was where a 1000+ tower was proposed to go a few years ago. These new proposals are all significantly shorter than 1000ft, but most would still become the tallest building downtown if built.

They pretty much can't go over 1000 ft because of Logan Airport, right?

I think you're right.

I also think that there are parts of inner Boston that could have a 1000 ft tall building, but I'm not really an expert on zoning in this city.....

Maybe Back Bay is far enough away?

Yes, and this might be something to watch on that front...

Deal to renovate Back Bay Station would grant rights for new tower - Business - The Boston Globe

But the fact that no real plan has been submitted for this site yet means that Boston won't be seeing any kind of skyscraper there anytime soon.

West Hollywood as well. Sunset La Cienega in particular is ginormous. Will definitely change the flavor of the Sunset Strip.

I'd love to do a count of all the housing units/uc in Central LA. I have no idea where to look, but it has to be north of 13,000 units by now. That's almost double San Francisco's total, and more than DC proper, two of the more booming cities in the country. LA isn't doing anywhere near as well at the moment, which makes me wonder how construction will look if/when LA's economy takes off again.
