In 2009 I moved from Phoenix where I lived for almost 10 years, to Minneapolis (where I was born) for a year. Hard choice since I have feelings for both. I think I would end up picking Phoenix as I'd rather put up with the intense summer heat, over the bitter cold periods in MSP(where I live now is much less prone to extremes). Though I MUCH prefer the lush greenery and access to water of MSP, over the brown hills and weeds of the desert. In the upper Midwest May-Oct is absolutely magical.

Both are in the middle of nowhere (like really isolated) but at least Lovelock has an interstate to get out of dodge once in a while. Lovelock it is.
