This pairing seems to keep popping up with some frequency.
The two cities have grown closer to each other on a number of metrics. St. Louis remains Missouri's premier metropolis while Kansas City (Mo.) bears that distinction for the state next door to its west, and that latter part (along with the name) continues to confuse the hell out of everyone east of the cities (though not to their west, because everyone in California has relatives somewhere in or near KC).
Kansas City IMO remains the more attractive of the two cities. Maybe were I a St. Louisan, I'd feel different, but everyone I know who's been to both seems to agree with me. And the barbecue in KC is definitely better.
Kansas City or Oklahoma City?
Kansas City. Or virtually any city before Oklahoma City.
Virginia Beach. I like the Tidewater area and am not a fan of south Florida.
Duluth, MN or Rochester, MN?
Rochester... It seems a little more cosmopolitan, I prefer its location within the state of MN and with respect to the rest of the midwest, and I'm guessing the weather is a bit more temperate too being a couple hundred miles south of Duluth.

Lake City, FL or Sebring, FL?
I'll take Sebring. Really wouldn't want to live in either. But I lived in Orlando at one time and really liked central Florida. Lake City and Sebring are about the same distance to Orlando (a little over 2 hrs.), but Sebring's closer to the Tampa Bay area (which I love).
Tough one. I would choose Pittsburgh. It has really turned things around while St. Louis continues to decline.
Nashville, TN or Memphis, TN?
Nashville. I love the area and like the growth that's going on. It's much like Charlotte (where I live) and we have a very high regard here for Nashville. Very high QOL. Great people. I really do like Memphis as a place to visit, but couldn't see myself living there.
I was going to go with Grand Rapids, thinking that it's further south and closer to Lake Michigan, but it turns out that Madison and GR are at the same latitude and roughly equal distance to the Lake.
So, I'll go with Madison, because I think it's more left-leaning, and it's been ranked as one of the best places in the US to live. Grand Rapids is nice, but very conservative.
Colorado Springs, CO, or Salt Lake City, UT?
