When you arrive at the site, press "Geography" on the left-hand side menu bar and from there you can choose between MSA and CSA. If MSA, then scroll down their menu of options and press "Metropolitan Statistical Areas - 310" and if CSA, then scroll down to "Combined Statistical Areas - 330". Then return back to the left-hand side toolbar and press "Race and Ethnic Origins," once you've done that a menu should appear center screen and in that menu select the option that says "White, Not Hispanic or Latino" or just "White" and then on center screen select the appropriate year and press "view".

Here is some preliminary statistics I'm working on. Still far from a finished work but I should have the MSAs and CSAs done soon.

Add the number you see for "Central American" + Colombian and Venezuelan up for both 2014 and 2013. Then subtract the 2013 number from the 2014 number. If the math was worked correctly, you should arrive at (+ 56,157) and that happens to be your city's fastest growing demographic group by far by the way.

Total Hispanic and/or Latin American Population Growth in Greater Houston CSA from July 1, 2013 to July 1, 2014: + 75,809

Interesting. I wonder how it would break down from immigrants and domestic. I bet most of FLD is domestic and most of Miami is immigration.

Keep in mind people that all these population statistics are just estimates. MSA /CSAs can add and lose counties whenever the real numbers are released. That's why some cities end up doing better than their projected population estimates while other cities prove to be overestimated. Nothing is official until after 2020.

True but like Red John said, usually they get the metro areas right. It's the cities themselves they get wrong.

Those random cities you mentioned probably have 600,000 people. Likely 400,00.
It's a lot more than that. Just a few quick numbers:

-The Antelope Valley (Lancaster-Palmdale) has around 475,000 people.

-The Victor Valley (Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley, etc.) has around 390,000.

-The Coachella Valley (Palm Springs, Indio, Palm Desert, Cathedral City, etc.) has around 350,000.

So that's over 1.2 million in those three areas that are in the LA CSA but not the LA urban area.

And while those numbers are pretty large compared to most other CSAs (add something like that to anything besides NYC CSA and LA CSA and they put CSAs significantly over their peers), don't mean a huge deal in respect to LA's MSA.

I clearly said that I was highlighting an area that encompasses a population of 17 million in a cohesive 3000 sq miles, yet you ignore my post and only respond to FreddyK, anywho your numbers are something I already took in to account so I don't understand the point of bringing this up again

Lancaster and Palmdale are not that far from la.
It has commuter train stations. They're only far because of the geography.

I'll give you the other two. 700,000.

Palmdale and Lancaster are dense for far flung butbs.
