I do not understand this "Tampa area". North to south the area is 140 miles long. By that measure Austin/ San Antonio is an area and that is only 110 miles NE to SW.

OK, but it doesn't have anything specifically to do with the White House, and doesn't in any way make the Census data politicized.

Maybe you have a problem with reading comprehension!! Hartford/Springfield has a much larger commuter interchange than Hartford/NY, thus Hartford has a much better chance of merging with Springfield.

My point is that local politicians/officials have some input on how these MSA/CSA's are put together, that's all. Use some common sense!!
