Living in a place where the average daily high is below 75 for 8 months? Hard pass. I don't care how sunny it is. Some of us like warm weather.

I can see some people not liking them.

I agree... a dry 70 in AZ can feel cool...
And I'll pass on all that snow in Denver. Snow is so extremely overrated...

Also, people say "I like 4 seasons" blah blah blah...
Yet they all love islands and imagine how nice it would be to always have great weather.

In AZ, what is considered cloudy is considered partly cloudy other places. What is bad weather in PHX is considered a pretty decent day in most other states. PHX gets spoiled with near perfect weather for most of the year. And people that really don't know what PHX is like want to say "but it's so hot..." Sure it's hot, it's the #$@$ desert genius... But that's summer... Fall, Winter and Spring in PHX, the weather is near perfect.

A humid 70f day can be as well. 70F, dry, and sunny usually means shorts and t-shirts for everyone. But yeah I could too.

A dry 70 in Denver is warm, or hot to some people as the sun blasts you.

I think you're missing the point as to why people like islands. I would assume most just want to experience it for a while, not consistently deal with 100% humidity and 90+ degrees. And when they mean great weather, they probably mean Southern California, not Phoenix.

That being so, usually because a lot of people aren't really aware of just how nice Phoenix weather is for most of the year. Because they know it gets 115 in PHX, they forget how nice it is when it's not Summer. The nice weather they like in So Cal, PHX gets for half the year.

You could easily say the same about Denver. People here are overreacting trying to defend their cities. Denver also has California like weather for parts of the year, especially summer. Every week isn't 12 degrees just like every week isn't 115 in Phoenix.

As I get older, I prefer more days of warm/hot than more days of cold. So Phoenix would suit be better than Denver in the winter and spring.

Phoenix is bad enough in the summer, ideally, you don't want to be there at all throughout the summer.
Denver is bad enough in the winter, ideally, you don't want to be there at all throughout the winter.

So concerning weather, Sacramento is superior to both Denver and Phoenix.

I don't like the higher elevations of the Denver area, the same mountainous hiking trails in the larger Sacramento area are much lower elevation and just as green if not greener with more wetlands, rivers and, lakes.

I don't like the absence of natural green, natural wetlands, grasses, large deciduous trees, and larger conifers and sequoias in the Phoenix area. You have to go pretty far and pretty far up in elevation to find decent confers, and its still sparse by NorCal standards.

We spent a couple weeks in Phoenix in early March and the weather was actually better in Sacramento than Phoenix. (Although NorCal had very very dry winter this last season).
