So first things first, can't really compare any of these cities to Toronto. I have never seen a city between the U.S and Canada grow as fast as Toronto and the growth has not slowed down since the 80s. Not only building wise, but Toronto has been growing 100-160,000 a year since then.

As for which city will be grander, definitely Miami, it already is. It will never be another Toronto nor grow at the same pace as Toronto. Miami is its own thing and has benefited from the pandemic, although I believe it will slow down now that covid is "ending" and crypto is crashing, which Miami has (as always) put all their eggs in one basket.

Seattle has Mount Rainier, a glaciated stratovolcano. That's way grander than more glass high-rise condos used to launder money from China (Toronto) and Latin America (Miami).

This I take as absolute numbers, in percentage Las Vegas grew by 85% in the 90's.

Miami without a doubt. 15yrs ago Miami was still ahead of Seattle today in terms of high rises. With 2 million extra people it’s not really a fair contest.

By your logic Olympia has Miami and Toronto beat too.

Regarding skylines/tall building numeric, Miami blows Seattle out the water. Miami has 90 buildings over 400' and has 6 supertalls planned (1 of which is about to or has already broken ground) and that's before we include the immediate surrounding municipals.

Miami will build more tall buildings.

That said, Seattle will build a ton of urban-style infill due to our choice to grow up vs out and focus on transit. Climate change will support faster growth over time. But for now most of it will be six or seven stories.

Miami might be under water in 100 years.

Seattle has the potential, but with the current and probably future leadership here, it will more likely continue going the other way.
