Everyone on these websites & people in my family that are from TX
MOST people I know talk down on Austin. When I moved to NC most people I know didnt know anything about austin and ASSumed it was some country place. And ALOT of those people are New Yorkers who basically talk down on every city that isnt NYC(Not talkin about you). And usually if you watch TV or any other media, you really dont hear about Austin, the same you would hear about other cities in US. Media wise I think it's underreted. That's why I thought it was underrated.
Location: The land of sugar... previously Houston and Austin

There are countless examples of people moving to Austin who obviously had some preconceived notions that it was, well, much better than it turned out to be. This is due to all the hype it gets by magazines, national media, etc. especially compared to underrated places like Houston and San Antonio.
