Most dogs are processed garbage... This is why i said in the beginning, what's so great about hot dogs?
Yeah I've had very good hot dogs, and they were in NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Yankee stadium), but it's really nothing to worry about it you've never had one.

That's all i'm saying.. I don't get why everyone assumes i never had a good hot dog before... If anything it's the onions, sour kraut, and brown mustard what makes a hot dog a good hot dog, so with that said, NYC has better toppings.

I commend your openmindedness.

As I've said, I go lightly on the condiments as I enjoy the flavor and texture of the sausage itself.

I don't know why, but hot dogs from street vendors just seem better. Maybe its just the fact that you can enjoy it outside while on the run.

Unfortunately there isn't much to brag about with street vendors in DC. There are definitely plenty of them, especially around the National Mall, but they are nothing special. I've only tried them a couple times since I'm rarely around that area of town and have no reason to go back just for that.

We do have DC's hotdog which is the half smoke. They aren't too bad. Ben's Chili Bowl is the big place for those. One weekends there are lines out the building and down the block. I'd still take my Milwaukee brat or Chicago hot dog over the chili half smoke though.

Half smoke at Ben's:

Don't you have Nathans where you live? They're all over the place nowadays. I think Nathans tastes better in Coney Island though.

Wait, so Chicago hot dogs are sausages? That's what it looks like. They're really thick. The NY dogs are thin and long.

All hot dogs are sausages Rachael. Chicago hot dogs vary in size and shape and are classed as being so many to a pound, 10 to a pound being a skinnier dog than 8 to a pound and so on.
