The westside of Chicago is just as bad as the southside.

I also think certain sections of South Central LA, Watts, Compton, etc. are almost as bad as far as murder rate, if not worse.

Same stuff different scales.
Gangbanging for the U.S.
or Gangbanging for the Latin Kings

Innocents are lost to both.
Interesting.

im from chicago and i'll still say LA is the gang capitol just off of the fact that blood and crips is EVERYWHERE(except in chicago)..

and even thou we usually have more overall homicides than them, the majority of LA homicides is STRICKLY gang related, ours is too, but not as many as LA..

To tell you the truth, this might sound weird but I think LA has nice looking hoods. Especially compared to older cities of the midwest or northeast which have neighborhoods that are just straight beat up and look like bombs have went off on em. Maybe I haven't been looking in the right places but I looked at a couple of pictures of Compton and the houses weren't bad at all, most of em had front lawns and driveways etc.

Just as an example, compare this picture of Chicago:

To this picture of Los Angeles:

i always thought that in actual video compton would look bad, but in the gang nation episode when they showed compton , compton look like a nice area you would see comparing it to the east coast hoods. i aint saying compton is sweet but the neighborhoods in compton look very sweet lol.

Another picture of LA, this one taken from the movie "Boyz N The Hood", very good movie, but still look @ those houses, not too shabby for being "the hood".
