My wife discovered this morning that you can rent bicycles at the recreation center for $3 an hour so we took a quick spin around some of the "neighborhoods" in FFH. There are really nice homes and yards in the area and there is some new house construction going on. We are looking forward to the new restaurant opening. I stopped over and they still have at least a couple of weeks of renovation / remodeling work to go. I would think it would be closer to the end of the month before they are open unless they can get a lot done quickly.
We rented bicycles from the rec center a few times when we visited in April, and the cart paths on the "retired" golf course are perfect for a bit of pedaling exercise and to enjoy some nice green space. I believe we will buy a couple of those one speed cruisers like the ones they rent, they are perfect for the task. Frankly, I am hoping that the old golf course stays in it's current state, with open fields, wild flowers, ponds, walking trails etc. Being right in our backyard is great, and this a nice asset for the community.
With reference to my posting 334, a ray of hope has appeared as the FFH POA Board elected a President that is not one of the old guard, in my opinion. Being the optimist I am, I see this as a positive that perhaps the Board will focus on the recovery of our community, functioning within the statutes of NC, our community legal documents, and for the benefit of all members.
I believe that the new president should not have to carry the baggage of her predecessor, and should receive the support of all, unless she demonstrates such support is inappropriate.
Not yet but the talk at the pool today was opening in 2 weeks. They will be serving mostly bar food .Burgers that type of thing. They want lighter fare and see how that works out.
No Surprise. When I was there the week leading up to the 4th of July, I walked by the restaurant and it looked like they still had quite a bit of work still to do.
Nothing yet .We haven't been over there .I will get over there this week and see what's going on.
