I was talking to someone the other day about that same lot. I'm sure they serve decent food, but that's some prime real estate and hopefully someone will pony up the dollars to develop that land into something special. I believe that restaurant has been there since the early 80's at least.
That restaurant has been there forever. Never really thought I'd see the day that development spread to that area, but it's here.

It goes much further back than that. I remember it being Stadium Steak House in the 70's and I remember it being a strip club and then a gay bar before it was a Chinese restaurant.

I expect Charleston to overtake Columbia when the next estimates come out, and it will probably be that way officially for the 2020 Census.

That number seems really low looking at all the student housing, apartments and homes that came online in the city limits this past year.

These numbers are from almost a year ago....if the same numbers and ratio hold true for the year ending 1 July 16 ... then Charleston's population will have eclipsed Columbia's ... for whatever that's worth...
