No more dollar stores anywhere. Prime location for something much greater than that.

Haha I remember a comment I read somewhere that it doesn't matter if you are rich or poor everyone goes to the dollar store at some point.

I think the east side of Columbus could really use a Target. I think I read a rumor on here that one might be at Riverchase in Phenix City.

See, I would say the same thing but where we live your options are drive 4 minutes to dollar general or 10 minutes to Publix. I imagine while it would be as far out it would still be helpful to those living on Whitesville

You say that, but Twin chapel and a fairly decent portion of the surrounding area would be a prime demographic of such a store.

There was some coverage on CBS this morning about how "the $1 aren't the cheapo stores anymore". Basically there are more $1 stores than Walmarts and they have huge market share. Fact is, people will shop there and it would spark development.

Dollar stores are pretty common most everywhere. I know some trolls have come on here in the past saying Columbus gets nothing but dollar stores, but in reality they are in just about every market.

Next to Blackmon Road just before the right turn-off to Midland Trace (and before the church), some land has been cleared off in the shape of what appears to be a future driveway of some sort. I believe the land is/used to be owned by both McGlamry (forgot his first name) and Morton Harris, who died relatively recently. Does anyone know what's being built here?

If you are driving down Blackmon Road in the direction of Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church (which is on the left at the very end of Blackmon), the land I'm referring to that has been cleared-out is on the right side of the road. It's just before you'd turn right to go into a church that keeps changing its name (I think now it is "Aletheia Fellowship" or something?), and before you'd turn right to go onto Midland Trace.
