Winn Dixie isn't in any sort of financial standing to do much expanding. I don't see Piggly Wiggly opening too many new stores. Publix's only real competition now is Walmart Neighborhood Market.

It would be nice if another semi-upscale chain like Kroger or Ingles decided to set up shop in town. I don't see that happening, though.

The carwash is next to Macy's Home store entrance

I'm sure that's who Publix was protecting against entering the market by getting this location.

So they moved from being by the main mall entrance? That is where Cookout is going right?

Something similar to Ponce City Market or Krog Street in Atlanta? Where will it be located?

Probably closer to Krog - not much out there like PCM and probably not nearly as nice and will most likely have some half-baked concepts. I'm not sure if it will be in Eagle & Phenix or in the Rapids but I did notice construction has started in the remaining space in E&P on the end closest to Front.

A demolition permit has been issued for the former Ray's Uptown Body Shop building. Hopefully this is the start construction for the office and restaurant space.
