There are buses in Connecticut and they are well used. They just are not geared to long distance commuting like from Fairfield to Stamford or New York. The roads are too crowded. Mostly they are in a city or region and usually connect ot the trains. Even in New York this is true. Jay

I've just finished a 2nd (for the weekend) drive-by and there are cones still up blocking entrance to the parking. Am I missing something? I took the fly-over. Is there some other approach we're suppose to use?

I guess we'll find out in the morning. I was going to drive by today and check it out, but I didn't have time.

Success! It was right where I was last night, though the navigation was more clear this morning with the attendants. I caught the 4:37 AM train with no troubles.

So you were on the first train out. How was it? Were there a lot of people? How full was the parking lot? I thought the place looked nice. I hope you did too. Jay

There are 4 or 5 large buildings across the street from downtown station (which has been relegated to a local stop now). But because they house climbing walls and yoga studios they're ok, but if they housed cars not? Ugh.

Yeah, it's real comfy sitting next to some crackhead, and sitting in the same traffic as everyone else on the bus. I'll pass. The subway is bad enough.

Those buildings are like two stories tall. The garage would have been eight floors. There is nothing in the area that tall. Jay

Took the train from Metro today. The lot was predictably empty. The train was less full then when it left from downtown Fairfield. The train was PACKED (standing room only) by the time it finished pickups in EaNo. That is going to cause some problems.

btw. The parking lot at downtown fairfield, was MAYBE 10% full at 6:43. It would appear most of the pass holders took the chance to move to Metro. Though I can't blame them, there is no reason to want park at downtown now. It's just a local station.

You realize we live in a 3 dimensional world right? Why couldn't the garage be long, wide, and 3 or 4 stories tall. Did we really need 4 yoga studios, ANOTHER indoor fieldhouse, and a climbing wall?\

And what's your pre-canned excuse for not building one at the new station? With all the money that CROOK Flatto dumped into this fiasco, we couldn't get a parking garage?

This problem still exists, and is still just as bad. I am 2000 spots down from a pass, which basically means NEVER, and I've been in this town 3 years. The fact that the MTA had the balls to put an ad in the paper that suggests you could avoid the wait list at the new station, and the fact that those hacks at the minuteman would post that...just a joke.

But you guys keep taking it on the chin.
