Saturday July 29, 2012. 4:00pm

Was at Stu Lens in Norwalk and decided to take 95 South to get to 7 Connector back home. This is what I saw. Accident on the northbound side Exit 16. Blocking Left Lane. Traffic jam packed around the bend down further and probably southbound in Westport too from rubber necking

They just cleared the accident as I was copying the last picture here.

Yeah, I'm sure the "other ppl" are just making crap up. There's never traffic jams on 95 in southwestern CT. Never!!

Move along now.

The traffic on the parkway has been so frigging awful this summer that i've seriously considered trying 95 instead. Guess i'll give it a go.

Don't do it. 95 is ALWAYS worse then the parkway traffic wise.

In my experience, it depends on when you're traveling. What I've found historically is that if you're traveling earlier in rush hour, the Merritt backs up first, then 95 later. Later in rush hour, Merritt clears sooner. I can't say whether this has held this year because I work from home at this point, but that's how it used to be for us.

This. I used to switch back and forth occasionally, but it never mattered.

Actually, the only part of 95 that is usually better then the Merritt is between Westport (route 33) and Fairfield (Black Rock turnpike). However, the time gets negated traveling between the two on those slow, traffic light filled roads.
