The police have the authority to approach suspicious suspects and there are plenty of them in BPT.

You and JayCT can keep looking at the city through rose-colored glasses and making excuses but people will continue to drive through or avoid the city and leaving an empty downtown.

It doesn't have many attractions and every other town is better to be in.

Damn, I want Bridgeport to succeed, but I went down there a few days ago and it didn't seem like it was getting any better.

Bridgeport can only succeed if its residents want it to succeed. The violence needs to end and its politicians can't stop it even though they say they'll end it. Segarra in Hartford said it and crime spiked. The problem with not only Bridgeport but a majority of CT's cities is that if you give a man a welfare check, a free cellphone, food stamps, and section 8 housing, then he'll vote Democrat for the rest of his life. This has been the system for years. Our cities have expanded social welfare so much that it has become so oversaturated which led our cities to become broke.

Welfare should only be temporary. I've noticed many people in Hartford (probably a lot in Bridgeport) who choose to work has little as possible but don't care who gets elected as long as they keep their services and programs. Give these residents an incentive to work harder and become the best they can be.

Why is the Bridgeport downtown McDonald's closing? I would think they do great business, and it's not tainted with unprovoked homicide like the Stamford downtown McDonald's.

Welllll you could technically end violence in Bridgeport, but it be a bit extreme. Malloy would have to utilize the National Guard set up checkpoints in certain area's of the city, utilize the police to do warrantless searches seizing any illegal firearms/weapons/illegal substances, and initiate a 9PM curfew. Than find a way to feed and house the homeless on livable homes.

No he didn't. He stopped selling them military grade vehicles.

I don't want to live in a place where the police are militarized like some third rate banana republic. Do you?
