This sounds great, hopefully it works out. The interior is incredible and the neighborhood looks like it could use the investment.

This would be great. It is a shame that these stunning old theaters have sat empty for decades. I can't believe they are still standing. Let's hope this is real and will happen soon. Jay

Amazing!!! Their actually helping to drive people away from spending money downtown. Well if a criminal can get re-elected to city mayor, then we probably shouldn't be surprised at all when this BS happens.

Some big news for the City of Bridgeport. Today Mayor Joe Ganim announced more than $1 billion in new development in the city. This includes a Dave & Busters and Gala Fresh Farms market on the old Carpenter Steel site on Stratford Avenue near Steel Point and a plan for redevelopment of the old Majestic and Poli theaters on Main Street downtown. I just hope these are real and not like many of the other pie-in-the-sky plans that we have seen over the years. Jay

New Parking meters are keeping people away from Downtown Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT - Business owners in Downtown Bridgeport say they are struggling because of the city's new photo-enforced parking meters, which they say are scaring away customers who don't want to risk getting a ticket.
The city rolled out the meters late last year with the hope of improving business in the downtown area.
It said the meters would improve the flow of traffic and facilitate the payment process, but some business owners tell News 12 it had the opposite effect.

Those types of parking meters are needed in Stamford. I'm simply tired of having to carry change 'just in case I park in downtown.' With the meters currently in use in Bridgeport there's no need for change, just use the CC or the debit card and done!

Things are moving along with the city's Downtown North redevelopment. Hopefully there will be an announcement soon on the re development of the Lowes-Poli Theater complex. That would help solidify the whole area. Jay
