From what I remember, nep stated he would proudly vote Democrat and would make Ohio solidly blue. Just wondering if he's going to follow through with this.

I thought Nep has at least six months of living expenses savings, a relocation won't dent that stockpile! Stop playing whiffle ball.

I believe he said he has like $70k. Can't buy a home in CT if you don't take the job. This couple grand will ultimately mean nothing in the long run.

I doubt the decision is in his hands anymore. If they do not offer relo, in all likelihood, they will retract the offer Friday officially.

But look....as much as I would have preferred for a better offer, I just had to come to terms with reality. The fact of the matter is that I have been looking for a job for about 4 months now and this is the one and only offer that came my way, and it's located in central CT, which is where I want to optimally be. God knows if another 4 months would have gone by until my next offer. And I only have 7 weeks left of unemployment. The situation would become very dire, and I cannot let that happen and start depleting $3,000 a month of my savings. It's just too much of a risk to take, and I have a feeling it would not play out well.[/b]

What do you think?
Too much risk not to immediately accept the offer. It could be far more than 4 months before the next offer.

You have the cash, just move. Still, doesn't seem like a great offer, but you can't be picky in this situation.

First step is hope they do not rescind the offer. Between this and days off requests I would bet the 2nd choice has been told "Don't write this off" yet. I have rescinded offers when candidates acted too entitled/made too many demands , as have many in positions choosing candidates,

I am wondering if subconsciously, you are not trying to push them into voiding the offer. Especially as you voiced concern in earlier posts at having total responsibility for taxes at this corp.

But while only time will tell if you can handle it, you have just 7 ui checks left and nothing at even an interview stage at this time. That means if this does not pan out, you are at a high risk of relying 100% on savings. That makes this request high risk, low return. (and I say that no matter how it turns out..as even if they maintain the offer, no doubt you are viewed as high maintenance going in..not good.)
