6:30am temps. Some spots are already in the 80s including Boston, Bridgeport, NYC, Islip, and many in NJ. Sun is shining.

Bridgeport low of 78!
LaGuardia 88! WHA?

You ever feel the top or back of an A/C? A lot of heat is released from it. Go feel one if you haven't. It goes into the air. Millions of air conditioners running pumping heat into still air and man-made surfaces radiating heat back into the air all night long. #UrbanHeatIslands

Stamford is going to become one in the future with all those buildings they are building! Luckily it's not Brick or dark colors!

85° at 8am in Bridgeport is not the warmest for the hour. 88 was August 6, 1989. I'll send Daryl a note regarding the 120 there,

I've always thought that increased a/c over the decades helps to increase UHI. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks it....

Yup. Especially in areas that have brick as the structures. In suburbs that heat is just dissipated and escaped. Trees help too. And spread out homes. Non factor. But in cities you got these buildings that absorb and hold heat, lack of trees, and blacktop.

One might say "well the condensors are on the roof, heat rises". True, but air flows as well and heat expands. Not every building is the tallest.

Stamford is becoming a big big problem IMO. STOP BUILDING HIGHRISES! at least its not brick or dark colors.

95 and a dew point of 71 for New Britain's 06052. Do we go past Hartford's Saturday high of 98 degrees?

I think its hotter today. Thank God its only 2 days worth. This is classic and reminds me of my childhood years only not lasting as long. And with less haze. Have you guys noticed??? Not HHH. Just HH now.

I think the less haze than years past is from the cleaner air?

I mean does this look like it feels like 100°+??
