So June ended up below normal!

So far this year... January, April & June ended up below normal at Bridgeport, CT
4 of the last 8 months ended up below normal.

But 22 of the last 30 months were above normal.

Well, except for Jan 2022, the above normal months seems to be more above than the below normal months have been below for the most part

But it also looks like after the first 3 months of 2020, things have "smoothed out" a lot on both ends. I actually have a theory on this. Maybe to some extent it reflects a transition to the warmer 1991-2020 normals from the 1981-2010 set (which I think happened in the spring of 2021). I noticed a couple of the months just below normal (including June 2022) would've been slightly above the old normals. Time will tell......

Yup.. June would of been normal with the older 1981-2010 Avg. +0.1

What sucks is the snowfall. Now normal snowfall will be below normal with the new averages.

June Departures: This year was interesting in that it was the most below normal June since 2009. But yeah, above normal still more of

2000: -0.2%
2001: 3.4%
2002: 0.1%
2003: -3.0%
2004: -0.6%
2005: 2.6%
2006: 0.4%
2007: 0.4%
2008: 5.2%
2009: -4.4%
2010: 4.6%
2011: 1.4%
2012: 1.6%
2013: 1.9%
2014: 1.2%
2015: -0.4%
2016: 2.5%
2017: 3.3%
2018: 0.1%
2019: 1.0%
2020: 3.3%
2021: 2.7%
2022: -1.1%

Or 1st June since if you don't use 2015 as below normal

BTW -- July 2009 was the 5th coldest July on record. Whoa!

Only 3 days ended up above normal. Only 1 day going above 84°

Not a cloud in the sky and these are the 4pm July 4th dews

The last time the coast had max dewpoint staying under 60° on July 4th was 1991

As far after June 25th it was 5 yrs since having multiple days with dews staying under low 60s until this year. 2007 must of felt great

Well there went that.. Last few hours of yesterday ruined it. It was the driest July 4th since 1991 with dews staying in the 50s but that all went away after 7pm

Here's the humidity this year so far. This summer has had some nice dry days below the norm. In 2 months the mean starts dropping

While I don't know if this was true about BDR, BDL, DXR, etc. I saw on a forum that the 22% humidity in Central Park yesterday was the lowest humidity for any date in July since 2010 (when the same humidity level also occurred on July 4). It's definitely been less humid this summer than recent years.....

As you well know, % humidity is meaningless by itself without also quoting an air temperature...dewpoints are what matter. But agree with your last statement, and I'm enjoying every bit of it!

This. Hard to change habits though

Today definitely more soupy out there. Not as bad as some areas of Virginia and Maryland though. Yuck
