Lightning, looks cloud to cloud right off the coast. Kinda scary how close it is but not raining on land yet

But I spy some nice dews coming next week. And a mid level (5000') temp cooling to mid 50s finally.

The small precip amounts are basically trying to pick up convective stuff which they never handle good. So we might get lucky with some pop ups but will only be localized somewhere.
No wet fronts.
No wet storms.

Speaking of localized... Currently pouring near Yonkers with a Thunderstorm Warning on it

Pop up for Haddem, CT too. Lucky them!
So much for no precip - heavy rain incoming. We’re only one day into the Euro lol

NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Slow moving cold front is draped across NE NJ, NYC metro, and
Long Island. Showers and thunderstorms have already developed in
NE NJ and are slow moving. PWATs close to 2 inches and weak flow
will pose a flash flood threat with any convection today. The
highest probability of convection is along the front. The front
may shift a bit north through the day as sea breezes develop.
This could add some convergence and assist in the development of
additional convection.

Past 4hrs

I got lucky today as the front shifted north just enough to give me 0.05"... POINT ZERO 5. LMAO
Stare at New Haven oh man so close. Not sure they even saw drops. Maybe a few?

Hartford got 0 today which Euro posted yesterday showed..

Rain came as far north as North Greenwich than just retreated back as if to say NO SOUP FOR YOU.

Not concerned yet at all.

I usually don't look at this until we get to "severe status" because we all know we always get "abnormally dry" at times and when we are in "moderate" status a nice good rain storm makes it go away.

but Severe & extreme are worthy of mentioning. Nothing near it yet. I don't think we'll get there. 2016 was last time we had that status I believe. That was when we had pipes running from Reservoirs and water bans.

Euro00z for Danbury. A lot of 0's in the precip column coming up for SwCT. Nice to see 850mb temps in the 50s again though. That will keep the surface in check!

*Things can change so don't use this as a forecast or a guarantee. Keep checking models & forecasts twice a day!
I feel like some folks still aren't aware of that so had to mention it to remind them.

Looks like a coastal storm around Sunday. the GFS brings it close enough to give Danbury some precip.

Hope it Shifts north more!!
