To go back to the OPs post, what’s up with Weston? I found a house I love there but am hesitant to buy knowing that resale will be better for towns with a DT or town center. Then again I’m not looking to leave for about 25 years so it doesn’t matter much, right?

If you're planning to stay that long, you'll probably be OK.

Also, remember, buy as low as you can now in a buyers' market. And you'll be better protected. Hopefully Weston has already had its major drop and will stabilize now.

Weston offers incredible value right now. I doubt you'll find any other town with the same ratio of home price relative to school quality...or home price/median income for that matter.

I would still check and confirm that. It doesn’t look even that big. I just don’t trust some agents. Jay

This appears to be a rear lot which is not common. Jay

It's weird. Last time I bought a house was in IL about 14 years ago. I remember my realtor telling me there were all these state regulations about how you list a house. IIRC, one of them was you can't include below-grade in square footage. I guess CT doesn't have that law.

What I see now is full square footage of 'livable space' listed first, then in separate area it will saw square footage that is above grade and square footage which is below grade. I think this is the way to get around it.

Thanks Dave. That’s bigger than I thought but smaller than what’s listed (3009 square feet). Jay

Looks like 684 sq ft of the basement was finished off in 2017. I'm not a fan either of including below grade non-walkout finished space in the square footage.
