The same applies to the other towns mentioned. Avon also has many Hartford area executives (insurance companies, aviation, etc.) and well off businessmen as well. Jay
But the income doesn’t support what I’m reading here, and I’m also not seeing actual data to back it. Believe it or not, Newtown and Brookfield are full of Fairfield and Westchester executives.

Oh well. We can agree to disagree.
Northern Fairfield County feel slower pace than coastal areas it is like different world but OP would definitely love Avon.
Good work. That's how you do it.
Avon is more Northern FFC like. Abundant forestry, large homes and lots. I have no idea who lives in any of these areas or what they do for a living.
West Hatford is your southern FFC cohort, any city or town, however you want to designate it. Denser, more action, I hear the food is to die for up there. I still have Danny K's reco for Zoharra's on the top of my list. Hopefully this summer.
Best on the search. Come back soon
I have no idea about FF Cty, but Avon has farms, meadows, forest, medical offices, large homes on big lots. Sedate and quiet, rolling hills and spread out. Nothing exciting, but great for families and one of the safest towns in CT. There's at least one organic farm, a polo club in nearby Farmington, the prestigious Avon Old Farms School, Farmington Valley Arts Center. It's a good area for golf. You'll see horses and cows and old barns along with everything else.
It's not exactly hopping with activity, it's sedate and feels restrained. I think people who live there are doctors and executives mostly. I've never seen a downtown or walkable shopping area. There were plans for something but I think it got cancelled. My guess would be upper middle class--nice town and if you want things to do there's West Hartford or even Simsbury practically right next door.

I am originally from Stratford, CT. I am looking for a house closer to my job in Hartford. I am a Fairfield County girl at heart, so I am trying to find an area that is along the lines of that.
I've driven to Avon with my boyfriend, and we had fallen in love with it! It is absolutely gorgeous. It is the number one spot to live in Connecticut, and the school systems are amazing.
I was wondering if you can compare Avon to another area in Fairfield County? I've gotten mixed reviews. Some say it is the Greenwich of Hartford County, while others call it the Monroe of Hartford County.
Would you compare Avon to Greenwich? Fairfield? Monroe? Westport? Trumbull?
If I'm not mistaken, the people that have the amount of money to live in Greenwich would likely gravitate to the estate homes of Farmington and West Hartford over more recently-developed Avon.

Most who live in Greenwich likely have never been to Farmington or West Hartford, nevermind move there. I do get what you mean, though.

I'll go one further and say that they don't even know where Farmington and West Hartford are, if they've even heard of them. They could be in Massachusetts for all they know.
Greenwich is its own little world.
