It was a bit better down in New Haven area...more slop (mix of rain/snow/fr rain). Temps were just above freezing (33 - 34 F) so we had more plain rain in the mix longer than points north. Hopefully the sunshine and windy weather on Wed will dry/melt some of the frozen spots.

NWS posted snowfall totals...looks mostly like minimal amounts:

DOT was working hard all day. Thats what happens when the snow ratios are high and temps are cold, snow sticks like ice plus we actually had the freezing rain.

BTW.. salt doesn't work with temps in the teens. like this morning across CT!

Purples = below 20°F.

I fell to 17F ...my coldest morning since Feb 4th, 2023.

Looks like many spots inland fell to 10 to 17 F.!

Looking at the 7 AM obs...Waterbury is reporting 10 F...16 F up at Bradley...and 17 F in Danbury. Looks like Bridgeport fell to 18 F (at 7 AM). The banana belt in Groton reported a low of 20 F. Looking at the temp map above, amazing to think Houston, TX is colder this morning than New Haven or Groton. The cold was really pointed at Texas again this time.

We should see plenty of sunshine today, hopefully get some melting going today.

After tonight - it looks like two more cold nights (Fri - Sat night) before we see moderating temps. The coast could see lower and mid teens again:

NOAA/NWS still predicting a rather strong southwest flow next week:

Just when you think its gonna get better... it gets worse... Saturdays high with a fresh snowpack...wow!

As the low pulls away Friday night, another round of arctic air filters in from the northwest
