Drastic difference from last year
We got very lucky today.....I had a feeling with the cool temps and fog that it would block the storms.....

Default Heat Is Coming 2011

Who likes the heat?

Go to where you see purples.

Models showing heat to last for long time and I do not see a cool down in the near future...(meaning 60s for highs) ... Expect lots of 80s around here which is pretty normal for July.

Lets hope the south gets some rain..The drought and fires are getting out of hand not to mention the flooding catastrophy.

But enjoy the heat...its coming.

edit: like with all models..all this is subject to change as time gets closer.

HMM, 80s in July I can take, I mean it is summer I don't expect 60s all the time......it's those 90s and near 100 every day that would get downright brutul.

I'm happy with the temps, but it feels like the humidity is creeping up. I could do without high humidity.

Latest forecast seems to have lowered the temps a bit (mostly upper 80s; only 90+ seems to be in parts of NJ and down to mid 80s in coastal CT) and only has thundershowers on Sunday. Enjoy the 4th!

Default Snow In July

Because its a rare event..I need to post it.

Photo comparison of what summer looks like (top) and what it looks like today(bottom) at the Road to the sun by Logan Pass in Montana.

Elevation is about 6600 feet with the peak mountains in distance at 10,000 feet.

It's the latest open EVER on that road. Over 10 feet of snow still in spots.

Here's an article on it. http://www.greatfallstribune.com/article/20110630/NEWS01/106300303/Going-Sun-Road-may-open-later-than-ever?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CFrontpage
