Being a "biker" is the closest a white person in the US can get to knowing what it feels like to be black. Calling all the bike riders arrested at that fiasco thugs (as that other poster did) is like calling all blacks ni**ers.

Sadly there is very little reliable alternative media. I think the best source is a person's own judgement and common sense. About 169 of the 170 sources are still locked up. Blogs and discussion forums like this (even with the resident lunatics) generally include much more intelligent conversation than anything that comes out of a reporter's mouth.

Some people like a site called agingrebel for mc club news.

imho we just have to use our own judgement. Having followed several of these "biker gang" cases before I can say you become aware of le's tactics and how the media plays right along with them.

I don't think the bolded is true. They've been defended here quite a bit, one going as far as to refer to them as "21st Century Knights", people who "Live by a code" and "The prosecutor should let them go" etc.. etc... Do you think a Blood or a Crip would garner that respect after a shootout?

I respect this but I also believe that those with an inside knowledge (LE on scene) shouldn't be immediately dismissed.

I am on the back of my boyfriend's bike an awful lot, so that makes me a biker *****. Deal with it.

People in a GANG are thugs. People in biker gangs are THUGS. UNLESS it's a toys for tots biker run, but I suspect that is NOT considered a gang.

But as for the Outlaws etc....THUGS.

It's the closest you can get. First thing you mentioned was bloods and crips, see...look at your reference point.

What if the same thing happened except it was an naacp meeting where there were a few bloods and crips? Yes, i believe some people (rationally or not) would defend them.

I agree le on the scene should not necessarily be dismissed BUT...when it's several days into a mass killing and you "don't know"

1. How many officers fired their weapons
2. How many rounds they fired

...you start to lose credibility.

When it's several days into a mass killing and you won't say...

1. How many of the dead and injured have bullet wounds
2. How many guns were taken off bikers that were actually fighting
3. How many of the weapons seized at the building itself were guns and were they legal
4. How many of the weapons seized at the building were wallet chains and vest extenders
5. How many bikers actually fired at police

When it's several days into a mass killing and you WILL say...

1. The police are heroes who saved lives that day
2. Armed bikers are heading to the area and are under ORDERS to kill anyone in a uniform
3. Bikers are stealing grenades and C-4 to target high ranking police throughout the state and their families
4. We did not have plainclothes officers inside
5. We haven't counted, but 1,000 weapons.

Well, judge for yourself. In the last part, 2-4 are simply not believable. You warned the restaurant not to have the event, stationed swat and snipers, and didn't have a couple plainclothes cops inside??? That could only be one of two things---criminal negligence on the c.o., or proof that you intended to fire on that crowd (too much for even me to believe).

by you in all that i mean swanton, not you

Seen that many times. You found a 5 year old video, nice job. That does nothing to prove that bikers are thugs or that all the 170 arrested are thugs.

If I was saying ALL cops were murderers and posted some random video of a cop murdering someone, sometime, somewhere, within the last 5 years it would not prove my point.

Blanket statements cause people with critical reading skills to perceive you as stupid.

You can think I am stupid, I can give a rat's ass what you think of me. You are a stranger on the internet with an opinion, and I am a stranger on the internet with an opinion. I never stated: bikers were thugs, people who are in gangs and on bikes are thugs. I have zero tolerance for gangs and gang activities---if you have a problem with that too bad.

Are you sure? or would someone like Eminem or those that embrace the Gangsta Rap culture be more closely associated

I agree, but then again, we can play the "what if" game all day.

Yes, but on the flip-side, this is a pretty big crime scene, it's gonna take days and days to process it, LE is quiet on the matter because they don't want to to prematurely release info that could possibly be discounted by their own investigators later on. They're playing it safe. I know that this can be construed as "it's a cover up", or "they're getting their stories straight" and whatnot, but it is what is, this is how investigations work. People are expecting CSI, case wrapped up in 45 min. It just doesn't work that way.

Of course, this is all an educated guess on my part. I've never worked LE in TX so, there's that.

Ok, I went outside and meditated. I have "dealt" with your claim that your boyfriend has a motorcycle and you ride on the back of it. It was hard, but i got through it.

Please re-write the second paragraph. Try to make sense. I'm not asking you to move heaven and earth, just make some sense.
