This is so not PC but I had two patients today that didn't speak a lick of English. I assume they were in traffic accidents and we're being seen via an attorneys office. So basically we rolled out the red carpet to get all of their medical testing done and they didn't have to say a word. At least with my part of the testing. When I returned them to the exam room, the doctors assistant could happily communicate with them in their native tongue. Only in America. I said that as a mad Libertarian.

Really? Did Native Americans force your ancestors to speak Navajo?

I face this issue all the time, too. It's frustrating.

Such an overdone argument. Not to mention, there were so many tribes spread out there wasn't one universal language like English is universal, though not technically official, today. Colonists in NJ, for example, wouldn't have faced Natives who spoke Navajo. They wouldn't have even faced Natives a few states north or south who spoke the same language.
