This Christian couple only 30 days in jail each year? BUT! They get to go to heaven forever for letting their child die.

What is wrong with "these people" is a good question.

The father of a 20-year-old woman let her drown in Dubai rather than let lifeguards rescue her.

The father preferred she drown rather than be dishonored by getting touched by male rescuers, reports Emirates 24 News.

Lt. Col. Ahmed Burqibah, deputy director of the Dubai police's search and rescue team, confirmed the incident happened.

The dad had taken his wife and children "to the beach when suddenly, the 20-year-old girl started drowning and screaming for help," Burqibah said.

"Two rescue men were at the beach and they rushed to help the girl. However," said Burqibah, the man "considered that if these men touched his daughter, then this would dishonor her. It cost him the life of his daughter."

Burqibah did not say when the incident took place.

"The father was a strong and tall man. He started pulling and preventing the rescue men and got violent with them. He told them that he prefers his daughter being dead than being touched by a strange man."

The woman drowned and the father was arrested for not allowing rescuers to do their job.

According to the original story--which happened "many years" ago--the man was Asian. He may still have been a Muslim from, say, Indonesia. But the story does not say the man was Muslim.

Added: And notice that the would-be rescuers themselves were Muslim.

Muslims can look at things way different. They have beliefs that are sick and twisted when it involves the females and they will kill their own daughters, which they call honour killings. Weird thing is the biggest male misfits and losers get to keep on living. Have no idea why this was just reported in the news if it happened years ago.

I agree, some states in the US are no better and happy to keep women in the 1950s as well as excercising control! It goes on in the western world and people are blinkered to it if they think it doesn't! Even in the US! All religions have an agenda and are controlling in different ways. I live in a state where religion controls legislation and citizens.

There are lots of religions that are crazy not just the muslim faith. Some parts of the Christian faith would rather see them die than receive a blood transfusion, so don't pretend no other religions are adverse to insanity and these are practiced in the western world!

As someone who's neither christian nor muslim, it's fun watching the two groups fight over who is the more evil nutbag.

We Americans don't have a leg to stand on with this matter, like it or not American history is chock full of violent, religious atrocities just as bad if not worse- making the lady drowning look like a cake walk by comparision to being burned alive at the stake in Salem, or the mass murders by the US Army of hundreds of innocent unarmed women and children as was done to the Native American Indians in the event called "The Sand Creek massacre" lead by a Methodist minister named Chivington.
I'm not saying I agree with this culture but the above poster talks sense.Same way as the US doesn't like those outside the US questioning why they need guns, part of their culture but not of others. True too that other religions are no innocents, even those in the western world

And that goes for any religion, including my own (I'm a Christian).
There are Christians that have beliefs meaning they cant allow blood transfusions and let others die including their own children so sorry but this is not correct.

Not fighting , just giving a balanced argument that all religions have their issues not just one religion.
