What kind of a barbaric religion is this?

The scary thing is parts of this country and much of Europe is being overrun by these neanderfkkks who insist on bringing their backward culture with them instead of assimilating themselves to their host countries. They need to go back to the Middle East and stay there, we don't need their sharia laws and oppression of women. The US and EU desperately needs to expel every Muslim but Trump complains about the Mexicans.
If that dad could have felt for one moment the agony of drowning that she was experiencing, he would have forgotten all his religious beliefs and have her rescued.
In their religion they don't care about the women like that. That's why this father would've had his daughter killed had they rescued her. Honor killings happen quite a bit in their religion.
Would "these people" be Muslims who let people die rather than be touched by strange men, Jehova's Witnesses who let people die rather than get life saving medical treatments, Catholics who let people die from ectopic pregnancies to avoid the sin of an abortion?
I'm sure there are other religious groups that have similar rules that can result in death when taken to the extreme. If this story is true, the father should be arrested and prosecuted as an individual for his actions as an individual. But every religious group has individuals that take things too far, that doesn't mean we should eliminate all followers of that religion. Even if everybody was athiest there would still be individuals who take things too far and cause harm.
Punish the individual, not the collective.

Islam destroys every civilization it comes in contact with. The Western Far-Left has dislike for the West and has found an ally in Islam. Both the Western Far-Left and Islam have some common goals. Add to that the spineless Western leaders who are too PC to speak the truth.
I am as opened minded as the sky about different religions, cultures, etc. But this is nothing more than stupidity and taking some man made rule to the extreme.
They should have pinned him down, knocked him out cold, whatever and saved the woman.
He is in effect a murderer.

However in Yemen some of those Muslim fathers have no qualms about handing over their eight year old daughters as child brides and when the children run away back to their parents they are told you are married you must perform your duties as a wife don't bring disgrace upon the family. There has been documented cases of girls as young as 8 dieing from internal injuries related to being raped from their so called husbands on their wedding night, some of these children have even reported being held down by their so called husbands mothers while being raped. It is all done in the name of Islam and the rationale used is that the religion doesn't specify an age limit for marriage. In Yemen there was an attempt to change to law raising the age of consent for marriage to 17 it was blocked by an organization called the muslim brotherhood.
Same deal in parts of India and Africa.
No shortage of cultures that treat girls/ women as property to be sold to the highest bidder.
