He could have been seriously injured and you are missing the entire point. His so called tactical advantage was used on the wrong person. You sound like a fan celebrating after his team scored a touchdown in the wrong end zone.

Again take it up with the NYPD training unit. Also the fact was he was not seriously injured at all.

The cop apparently has a history. He'll be off the force and then become a paid police consultant, kind of like the military does. Although, the suspect and Blake do look very similar. Wrong place, wrong time and wrong tactics.

You've hit on why I'm not jumping on this cop. I don't know what he was trained to do in that situation. Should he or three of them surround Blake and tell him he's under arrest or ask for ID ? Too often the hands-on officers take the heat for doing what they're taught or enforcing policies imposed by the politicians or police higher-ups.

Funny that the " Chief of NYPD " isn't saying this , and the Mayor of New York City. Funny how some nobody retired Cop can speak for these people isn't it. Well if it's simply training let somebody with some " Authority " hurry up and say so......I'm Waiting !!!!!!

It is just a tragic and sad day, when a man can't stand in front of a hotel, waiting for his ride and he is thrown on the sidewalk and cuffed for no reason. I have said this many times, I know there are some great law enforcement people out there; but why are so many innocent people targeted? I have seen the video and Blake is not bothering a soul. Cop needs to get another line of work. Know the police have to think fast...........it's a wonder he did not shoot and ask questions later.

All due respect HOWEST the PC serves at the whim of the mayor. He will say anything he wants. Heck he even has to sit there and be embarrassed by the likes of Al Sharpton while 100 members of the media look on. The fact is that during his annual in service training and his plain clothes training he was taught to do this. All you have is administrative neglect on his part. Punishable yes termination worth no!

I wonder what might have happened had Blake not been submissive. After all, he had no idea that this individual was a police officer. Suppose that Blake had martial arts expertise or was just handy and had turned the tables on his attacker. Would he have ended up getting a beating from the other cops present? Might he have got shot? Would he have been charged with resisting arrest even though he had done nothing wrong?

Another thing that occurred to me. The police officer who arrested Blake, James Frascatore, has had his record published for all to see. You just know that any arrest he makes in the future is going to come with a brutality complaint and/or law suit attached to it. Will he ever be able to function as a police officer again?

My thoughts exactly. What if he was a martial arts specialist and countered the takedown and put the cop into a submissive position.

Would he be charged with resisting arrest?
