Yeah, what the hell happens to, "We are the police. We need to ask you a few questions."?

He will not be fired. He will lose 30 days vacation. He will be placed on one years probation. He will be booted from his plain clothes detail. He will be sent to retraining. Actually he is in more trouble for failing to file any paperwork regarding Mr Blake. If he had filed a SQF it would have protected him. Either way he will not lose his job over this!

That dirtbag, badge-wearing, power-tripping thug cop should lose his job and pension over this. Piece of $%#! People wonder why cops are so hated? Seriously? Each should be assigned a surveillance drone that films them every second they perform job related duties. They are like rabid pit bull dogs ready to pounce and injure. They need to be leashed.

[quote=ebbe;41147750]No matter what your ethnicity, you should always be on the safe side and cooperate with the police. I bet Bratton has a huge headache this morning. I thought they had an eyewitness id him (which is in itself a problem since these are very unreliable and certainly was in this case) but was a tackle necessary? Blake is handling this very well. Props to him.[/QUOT

Yes, never question anything the police do. Just do what your told.

As they now go door to door when for example they were looking for those escaped prisoners in upstate NY.(wink wink)

I saw one man on the news who was smart enough to know his rights and told them ''you're not looking in here without a search warrant", as opposed to the morons who just let them in.

Best not to question anything..sigh.

And that is the problem with cops. They don't lose their jobs.

Other lines of work, when you screw up, you're gone.

Did the officer not ask Blake for ID before apprehending him? If he did and Blake resisted in providing ID, then i don't see anything wrong with tackling Blake. However, if he just went by the face and tackled him without any identification being asked, then the officer should be fired.

Did you not see the video or news reports? Cop just bum rushed him. I AM from NY. And if I saw some skin head looking guy running at me full speed while I am coming out of my luxury hotel, I would swing on the guy. Anyone who says they would just let some random grown man tackle them is fibbing. I know as a fact I read these forums and listen to gun lovers (mostly cop supporters) say that they would pull out their piece and bust a cap in ANYONE that runs up and threatens them. The hypocrisy is mind baffling. So if you are black rich guy or any black guy, you should allow any grown man to run up and slam you on the ground? The cop DID not identify himself till AFTER he bum rushed BLAKE. Where are all the stand your ground clowns?

That's exactly what he did. He didn't identify himself; ask Blake any questions - he just rushed in and tackled him.
