But...that "good" shot wasn't good enough. The man is in a hospital, wounded. A real waste of so many bullets uselessly discharged and not doing their job correctly. Now the taxpayers pay for the bum's hospital stay, his food, and later, his arraignment and jail time. Then he will be out and the cycle will repeat. The only people screwed by this pointless system are the taxpayers.
I won't pretend to be able to operate better than a LEO or anyone else in a stress situation, but any firearms enthusiast will tell you that PD shooting qualifications are total bull$%&. I could pass any PD shooting qualification test with my eyes closed and while holding the gun in my teeth. And I hope I'm not supposed to be impressed with a policeman hitting the range 3 times a year.
I'm absolutely not trying to insult cops, but there's a misperception that being one automatically makes you some sort of marksman. I think this is especially the case in NYC where there's a good possibility that they've never even touched a firearm before setting foot in police academy.
Actually, a fair number of police officers are former military, and many are enthusiastic hunters ...

Career criminals are indeed very expensive for society in general …
Good an attempted murder suspect gets shot but you ridicule the missed shots? Glad that mutt is off the streets. Thank You NYPD for doing a difficult job protecting the unappreciative public!!!!
I didn't see any ridicule. Counting is something a five-year-old could do. You simply start with 1, then 2, then 3, and keep going till you count all the missed shots. You have to pay attention not to miss any, to get an accurate count. And, paying attention, you have no time for ridicule. That's in your imagination. There's nothing ridiculous about missing 83 shots out of 84. It's just a bunch of cops playing with their guns as usual.
When I see you make a statement like that I am not surprised!!! No meaningful debate can occur when you say nonsense like that!!!
No meaningful debate can start till we disarm everyone. Especially the cops.
