And I hope I'm not supposed to be impressed with a policeman hitting the range 3 times a year.

I'm absolutely not trying to insult cops, but there's a misperception that being one automatically makes you some sort of marksman. I think this is especially the case in NYC where there's a good possibility that they've never even touched a firearm before setting foot in police academy.
Actually, a fair number of police officers are former military, and many are enthusiastic hunters ...

If this man can pick up a gun and shoot at the police, then he is or will be a career criminal...

Hence the problem. They see the public as the enemy and enjoy the hunt.

When I see you make a statement like that I am not surprised!!! No meaningful debate can occur when you say nonsense like that!!!

People who sincerely and intelligently believe guns should be banned, want the cops to be the first ones disarmed.

I didn't see any ridicule. Counting is something a five-year-old could do. You simply start with 1, then 2, then 3, and keep going till you count all the missed shots. You have to pay attention not to miss any, to get an accurate count. And, paying attention, you have no time for ridicule. That's in your imagination. There's nothing ridiculous about missing 83 shots out of 84. It's just a bunch of cops playing with their guns as usual.
