Yeah, or people that play stupid games might think twice before pulling a weapon on an officer, but that would be personal responsibility, not something we do here in the US of A

Yes because giving birth is the same thing as pointing a rifle at a constable knowing your child is behind you.

We don't always agree that's for sure.........but we sure do on this one.
People are responsible for their actions. The father had plenty of time to leave before the cop showed up and he choose to answer the door armed for a conflict and his wish was granted.
He probably wanted suicide by cop so he ambushed the constable.
The fact the town had a constable means they were small with few resources. They did what they could the resident choose the rest.
