A fun exercise for people who do understand statistics or people who do play lottery? I would agree that
the people do play lottery have fun. I am not sure the folks who understand statistics would have that much
fun if they spend so much time chastising the people who play lottery.
It's been almost 4 years since I last bought a ticket. Not going there again as I feel it's a ripoff, even if it's only a lousy two bucks.
I have friends that play and maybe some family too. Quite confident they will set me up for life if anyone close or somewhat close to me should beat the absurd odds and wins. I do not need nor do I want that kind of money. My privacy is something I value a lot and it can't be bought. I do not want to deal with the problems this kind of money would bring me.
It would take much to make me happy. No desire for multiple fancy homes and vehicles, or trips to places I really do not want to go to.
If I won that much money, it would screw up my life completely.......
You could fix a lot of "screwed up" with about 15million a year in INTEREST off that pile.
I know this much, I'd have a lot of very happy nieces, nephews, cousins and so forth where the allowable tax-free gift of 15-20k (annual limit approx.) would hugely increase their quality of life.
It fascinates me that many big lotto winners have actually gone broke. Much like professional athletes, the sheer size of the payout blows their minds.
The thing is you end up losing a lot of relationships when someone falls into that kind of money. I am with some here who wouldn't want it. People who thought were your friends or even family become very different.
I've got such a good feeling about tomorrow's winning numbers that were cryptically revealed to me on the front page of the LA Times, that I bought 2 tickets using the same combination, thus allowing me to claim double the jackpot...
I would literally tell as few people as possible. Like, I would actively try to keep it a secret (if possible). The less ppl that know, the better. That's why if I win. I will show up to work for the next few weeks like regular and one day....submit my resignation letter, never to talk to a single co-worker again. Just leave like a normal person would and POOF, I'm out, bih!
