Well a 5-minute search tells me a few things:
1. There is no such thing as a plan specifically for 1980. There was the original WW plan, which was used exclusively until the early 1970's, at which point a Weight Watcher's for Ladies plan was implemented. There was an exchange-based diet that occurred at some point in the late 1980's. Its subtitle advertised that it was new for 1989 - however it had a copyright date of 1987 and 1988.
If you want the actual published, copyrighted materials, AND you want them legally, you would have to check with amazon or e-bay or other websites that resell used products legally. If you want someone to e-mail you a copy, you are asking for something illegal, and that is against TOS.
Don't be skeptical abput the new plan I am on it and have lost 50 lbs so far with 25 more to go. Don't knock the new plan until you give it a try for at least 1 month.
Did you find your booklet. I'm missing that one too. Would like to know your source so I can get one. I was on the The Quick Start Program in 1985. Thanks
The people that are searching for the older versions of WW are probably not even interested in losing weight. If they were they would realize that the changes that have been made over the years are huge improvements and were made to make it easier to follow. I do not know what their real reasons are for the older versions.
Also I had to add that anybody who was happy with the original WW plan and lost a bunch of weight at least 10-15 years ago is NOT going to have the same results today. Food is different too and guess what?.... so are our bodies. We just aren't going to have the same results.
As I recall, it was very limited. Fish fives times a week, liver at least two meals a week, a very slim booklet, with "allowed" food, and that was it. Bread was allowed, two slices for women, the "thin" sliced bread. Two slices of bread, or cereal, a day. Men were allowed four.
Yes, you lost weight, lots of salad. Seemed more like the "Atkins Diet", with more fruit allowed.

Most of the people who post in this thread aren't interested in actually receiving the original booklet. They just want your e-mail address so they can add it to their list of suckers who end up victims of their latest phishing scam.
Well, what do I know? Maybe someone may want the info.
I have not done WW in years, too confusing for me, points, whatever. I just know, to lose weight, you have to eat less, move more.
The diet that works for me? If I like it, it is on the "bad" list until the ten pounds is gone. I can only eat food I don't like, tuna, cottage cheese, spinach, etc..no ice cream, or pizza.
I too have been trying to recall the plan I followed in the 80's. Better for me than the points. We are all more educated now and generally eat healthier, maybe we can come up with a food list based on the original weight watchers? Anyone?
I am just trying to recall servings daily. I remember 2Dairy, 3 breads, 5 veggies, 6 protein and 3 fruit and 2 fat. The other thing I have noticed is less availability in my grocery stores for fat free cheese. I really lost and maintained for years on this plan. I eat healthfully but need to really watch and that's what this program helped me to do. I would love areal copy, cannot find online does anyone have a link? Thank you! BB
Did someone mention you had to eat liver on that diet? Just in case no one did, there ya go.
