DCCC Said To Be “Panicking” About Possible Weprin Loss
Quote:
As one of the lone special elections in an otherwise dreary political year, the race is being held up as a bellwether for everything from President Obama’s re-election efforts, to the administration’s policies toward Israel, to the public’s fears about the economy, to gay marriage. But for many New York Democrats, the race is much simpler: an unexpectedly tight race in a reliably Democratic district.
To stave off a humiliating defeat, Pelosi is raising money for Weprin.
Hikind is a conservative Democrat who has endorsed other Republicans as well, including Bush.
It's not Hikind that's going to be the problem but the fact that almost 50 rabbis (including the most respected rabbis in America) signed on to either an endorsement or a Jewish legal decision forbidding Jews to vote for Weprin (marriage redefinition vote, speech parades ext.), or both. (many of the rabbis who didn't sign either weren't asked to for time reasons and the ones who turned it down agree for a variety of reasons still agree that you should notvote for Weprin)
Just to explain to you how powerful this is if Hikind would have the same thing come up against him (which would never happen) he would loose in his overwhelmingly orthodox district.
Even a orthodox jewish politician (in the district) who likes Weprin (not on this issue but overall) has refused to endorse Weprin because to due so would be political suicide.
one more thing bronx democrat state senator Ruben Diaz (Puerto Rican) (also for marriage redefinition) also crossed party lines to endorse Turner (there are 40,000 registered Hispanic voters in this district)
If your going to post a poll, you should at least admit when its a PARTISAN POLL.
the polls not out yet but look at his thoughts on this race (next time stop with your anti god agenda and you will not loose in deep blue territory (there is a strong reason that the jewish vote (and a few other North eastern demographics) is going republican and most likely would not if the democratic platform of the early 60's was still in place)) Twitter

The democrat party left that platform a long time ago and has embraced the far left agenda.
Obama treatment of Israel is doing him no favors and hopefully the same will happen in the general election. There has never been a president as anti-Israel as this one.

but as it keeps sliding to the left people who have been voting based on the political landscape of 50 years have been realizing more and more that they didn't leave the democratic party but the democratic party left them (keep in mind the Republican party in NY had a strong reputation (rightfully so) for being the WASP party (and at certain points anti semetic and anti Catholic))

And Obama has shown you can get demolished with the Orthodox vote in the district and still win the district. The determining factor really isn't going to be the Orthodox vote, (since McCain won it big and still lost), its actually going to be what group turns out heavier. The liberal secular upper middle class Jews and Asians in Forest Hills or the conservatives in Howard Beach
Weprin does not reside in the district and cannot vote for himself on Tuesday.
“My mother lives in the district, and I'll be happy to go with her to vote,” said Weprin.
He would not, however, commit to moving into the district should he win the race.
Huh?
Doesn't live in the district?
Oh dear.
