He was against the use of force against Iraq in 1991 and 1992, as well as opposing the invasion of Iraq in 2003. He did vote for the bill authorizing the use of military force against terrorists.

He is for Universal Healthcare.

He was against the 2008 bailout. He voted 'no' on confirming the nomination of Timothy Geithner to be Secretary of the Tresury.

He was strongly against the Tax Relief/Job Creation bill of 2010 (passed and signed into law by President Obama), i believe because he was against the continuation of these tax cuts due to the deficit.

He was for increasing the disability compensation rate for American veterans and their families, and he and Senator McCain wrote the "Veteran's Access to Care Through Choice, Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014.

To simply dismiss him as a 'socialist' is shallow thinking.
From what I've heard about Mr Sanders; I'd def vote for him OVER Hillary and I'm a Repub.

If you "know socialism is a failure," why do you promote/support it? Why would you vote for a socialist for President?

Define "classic socialism," and explain what is different about today's socialists?

Read, "The Road to Serfdom," by F. A. Hayek. You might learn something.
Since you brought up F.A. Hayek, I wonder if you've actually read "The Road to Serfdom" in which he talks about, amongst other things, his support for a guaranteed minimum income and universal health care.

While stressing Hayek's aversion to top-down economic planning and governmental interference with the price system, the Swedish-born scholar nonetheless points to works such as The Road to Serfdom and The Constitution of Liberty in which Hayek flatly endorses a publicly provided social safety net and, like another free-market intellectual giant, Milton Friedman, discusses a guaranteed minimum income.

There is no reason why, in a society which has reached the general level of wealth ours has, the first kind of security should not be guaranteed to all without endangering general freedom; that is: some minimum of food, shelter and clothing, sufficient to preserve health. Nor is there any reason why the state should not help to organize a comprehensive system of social insurance in providing for those common hazards of life against which few can make adequate provision.

Bernie needs to run as a Democrat due to campaign rules. He can get on the ballot in all 50 states without the huge aggravation associated with doing so as an Independent.

Unlikely he gets the nod, but at the rate Hillary is going, she might self destruct sufficient to allow him to steal the nomination. You know the Republicans are pulling out every stop to make her look "bad", and she has plenty of baggage to help them along.

Time will tell. Bernie brings a breath of fresh air into what was shaping up as a long, mindless BS slog that only other candidates should have to endure.

the fact is, it is the democrat party.... that is the PROPER term

you are describing the name of a party...not a type of government
Actually, properly, it's the Democratic Party, not Democrat Party. Way to lecture others on being correct

Default Libertarians, would you support Bernie Sanders?

He's a non- interventionist. I can can give you as much reasons to vote for him as I can for Rand Paul.
